Aquabound Technologies Ltd.

Aqua-Bound was one of the first companies to utilize gas-assist injection molding technology in the manufacture of kayak paddles. Now, over a decade later, we do it all ourselves from design, to injection molding, to final product. Our attention to detail is immense, and our quality control standards are strict.
Our paddles are designed for recreational, touring/Light Touring and Touring Performance. To determine which is best for you follow the link to Aquabound - Choosing a Paddle and learn lots more!

Boreal Design Beluga

The Beluga is a composite tandem, which, from the first strokes of the paddle ensures ease and confidence. This kayak combines stability and performance, and is capable of reaching high cruising speeds. A moderate rocker, coupled with a larger rudder, make the kayak easy to turn. Large cockpits offer ample room for the legs and feet. The practical centre compartment can be used for extra storage or outfitted with an optional child seat/bulkhead. The cockpits are spaced sufficiently apart, allowing the paddlers to paddle at their own speed, without risk of accidental collision between the two paddles. This makes the kayak ideally suited to paddlers with mixed abilities or families with young children.Click here for more info on the Beluga

Boreal Design Ellesmere

Ellesmere and Ellesmere Ocean Cockpit

With an outline mirroring the silhouette of traditional sea kayaks, the Ellesmere combines the advantages of the reverse hard chine with a semi-arched hull. Designed for the experienced paddler, standard equipment includes a skeg, sturdy anodized aluminium footrests, a backband seat, thigh braces, recessed fittings and a deck line. The kayak also features a practical paddle rest in front of the cockpit. A day hatch is available as an option. The Ellesmere is offered with a small (Ellesmere OC) or standard-sized cockpit. At a time when construction methods and a scarcity of materials imposed serious limitations on kayak builders, the Inuit resorted to ingenuity to assemble efficient, elegant kayaks. They also introduced the concept of hard chine, an idea explored in depth by our designers.

The materials in use today offer many advantages. Stiffness, performance and lightness are qualities conveying remarkable latitude in the creation of new shapes. With the frame no longer necessary, our designers can give free rein to their imagination in pinpointing the ideal location of the chine to improve kayak responsiveness.

Boreal Design Esperanto

The Esperanto is the longest and fastest of our plastic tandems. It is easy to paddle, comfortable and stable, and can reach excellent cruising speeds. A moderate rocker and larger rudder contribute efficiently to responsive turns. The practical centre compartment can be used for extra storage or outfitted with an optional child seat/bulkhead. The cockpits are spaced sufficiently apart, allowing the paddlers to paddle at their own speed, without risk of accidental collision between the two paddles. This makes the kayak ideally suited to paddlers with mixed abilities or families with young children. Click here for more info on the Esperanto

Boreal Design Ookpik Duo

With a hull shape combining reverse hard chines and slightly concave bottom, this kayak unites performance, wave-riding capability and a surprising level of stability. Using the Ookpik and Esperanto as models, we designed a two-person kayak that can be paddled solo, thanks to a sliding seat. The great versatility of the Ookpik Duo makes it an ideal family craft.
